Hello, I am Gavin Webb, London Blue Badge Tour Guide. I would be delighted to show you around my wonderful city. I was named Luxury Travel Guide’s London Tour Guide of the Year in 2018 and 2019, the Prestige Awards “Tour Guide of the Year” in 2024 and “Best Small Group London Tour Guide 2025” in the Best of British Getaways Awards. I was awarded “Best Site Guide” in 2005 when I qualified as a London Blue Badge Tour Guide after the extensive study and examinations set by the Institute of Tourist Guiding. I was first awarded a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor based on the 5 star reviews I have received in 2011. After the challenges of the COVID pandemic, I was very pleased to be awarded a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice award in 2021 and again in 2022 and 2024.
As a registered Guide Trainer, I have the privilege of being one of the tutors on the course training others to become professional London guides. I am also an accredited Examiner for the Institute of Tourist Guiding. I enjoy attending seminars, art courses, talking to curators and constantly researching to ensure my knowledge is up to date and fresh.
I love to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for this amazing city with its 2000 years of history and its exciting, vibrant, contemporary scene. I can tell you about my favourite restaurants, exhibitions and theatre productions and what life is really like living and working in the world’s greatest city.
Before becoming a professional guide, I worked in asset management in the financial City. The analytical and presentation skills I gained there are now used in the much more interesting and fun world of guiding!
